The Ekolaj Project was founded in 2018. After supporting relief work in Haiti since 2010 it was a natural transition to branch into supporting schools. Ekolaj is a small team of people determined to make a difference. It is our vision that one day we will be able to support all of the schools and children in underserved areas of Haiti.
Approximately 60% of the school age population is not enrolled in school.
This is widely due to the lack of a public school system. The Ekolaj Project partners with local privately run schools to provide students with tuition sponsorship.
Rachel is passionate about giving back to the community and is heavily invested in charitable work in her hometown of Houston. Her favorite volunteering times have always been spent working with children. Starting a foundation focused on education was an obvious next step.
